Map the land
that feeds India.
GeoFlux gives researchers, students and agri-tech developers fast, private access to OpenStreetMap: farmland and orchards, irrigation canals and tanks, mandis and agri-input shops, rural roads and village boundaries, all through one HTTPS endpoint.
Everything around the farm, from field to mandi
OpenStreetMap holds millions of mapped features across India. GeoFlux lets you pull exactly the agricultural layers you need, with tags and geometry, for any village, mandal, district or radius.
Farmland & crops
Field parcels, paddy, plantations and greenhouses, with crop tags where mapped.
Orchards & vineyards
Mango, citrus, coconut and grape holdings, tea and coffee estates.
Irrigation & water
Canals, distributaries, drains, tanks, reservoirs, ponds and wells.
Markets & storage
Mandis and weekly markets, warehouses, silos and cold storage.
Agri inputs & services
Seed, fertiliser and pesticide dealers, farm shops and veterinary clinics.
Villages & boundaries
States, districts, mandals and village places for area-wise analysis.
Rural roads & tracks
Village roads, farm tracks and highways linking fields to markets.
Aquaculture & livestock
Fish and prawn ponds, dairies, poultry and animal-keeping sites.
Built for agricultural research and practice
Some of the questions GeoFlux can help answer.
Irrigation coverage studies
Measure how far farmland sits from canals and tanks, or compare irrigation networks across mandals.
Nearest input dealer & mandi
Build apps that point farmers to the closest fertiliser shop, veterinary clinic or market yard.
GIS & data-science projects
Create crop-land datasets for remote-sensing labels, land-use classification and machine learning.
Market access & logistics
Map rural road links between villages, warehouses, cold storage and markets.
Village-level fact sheets
Summarise water bodies, schools, health centres and shops for any village or mandal.
Aquaculture monitoring
Track mapped fish and prawn ponds and their drainage around the Godavari delta.
Three steps to your first field map
Request an API key
Contact the GeoFlux administrator with your name, department and purpose. You receive a personal key with a validity period and daily quota.
Describe the land you need
Write an Overpass query: which features (farmland, canals, markets), where (radius, bounding box or district), and which format (JSON, CSV).
Call the API over HTTPS
Send it to /api/interpreter with your key in the X-API-Key header, from Python, R, QGIS, curl or your own app.
Works with the tools you already use
GeoFlux speaks the standard Overpass API protocol. Existing Overpass scripts only need the new URL and your key.
- Standard Overpass QL and XML queries
- JSON, XML and CSV output, with geometry for GIS
- Self-hosted on campus: your queries stay with us
- Check quota and key expiry any time at
